Creative industries in the US, such as film, art, music, fashion and design employ 8.8 million workers and generate over $1.7 trillion in sales annually and are an important part of placemaking and building thriving economies. This panel will take a look at how panelists’ creative industries were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, how they’ve changed, and the future of the culture economy. The panel will also explore how higher education institutions can support the long-term sustainability of creative industries in order to support more resilient economies.
