Established in 1976, the University Economic Development Association has been working to bring together higher education institutions, private sector businesses, non-profits, government organizations, and community economic development stakeholders to create local and regional economic opportunity. Our membership has grown to more than 160 organizations, who represent those at the leading edge of modern economic development thinking and practice.

Our Value Proposition
UEDA is for economic development professionals who seek to connect with innovation ecosystem builder partners such as universities, community colleges, and other practitioners to learn best practices, gain recognition for their work, and better communicate their organization’s vital impact in building an inclusive economic ecosystem for their community.
UEDA Leadership
Our Board of Directors comprises some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable individual members who are responsible for guiding the organization at the top level. Drawing on deep experience, the board provides strategic guidance, supports the organization’s mission, and helps ensure the continued impact of universities and colleges in strengthening regional economies.
Member Committees
Our members drive UEDA’s mission and the entire organization forward. As such, there is ample opportunity to take on important roles on any number of our committees. Members who participate in committees report significant value in collaborating with peers from across the globe, as they exchange ideas, and strengthen professional networks within the university-based economic development community.
